It takes love out of a heart of pure faith in Christ not to be lost. That is the right thing to be done. It takes the doing of the right thing and not the doing of the wrong or 'good' things. You can do a good thing and not do the right thing.

We must come to God in prayer with confidence in His goodness and mercy and with no confidence in ourselves

The altar of prayer is the altar of mercy because we can never merit whatever we receive through prayer. Effective prayer is not rooted in Good works but effective prayer is required to do good works and effective faith in God's mercy is required for effective prayer.

God is primarily sought by faith and not by works

No amount of good works can replace or add to the power in the blood of Jesus in accessing answers in prayer.

Our weaknesses should lead us to faith in God's grace because our weaknesses makes it easier for us to depend on God than on ourselves. When we depend on ourselves we draw limited power(Isa 40:30) but when we depend on God we draw unlimited power to achieve anything. Our weaknesses therefore affords us the opportunity of accessing unlimited power for success through God's grace

Sin is living at variance to the truth of God's righteousness. Grace is the bridge which enables us to cross from the truth of our sinfulness to the truth of God's righteousness. God reveals the truth of our sinfulness so that we can connect to His grace to live in the truth of His righteousness. This is so because the source of truth is the same source of grace. Grace promotes truth and truth promotes grace.
Titus 2:11 ,11 "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,",12 "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live sensibly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;"
The true teaching of grace is the teaching of the most effective way of living righteously
